Alexandra Bastedo

Alexandra Bastedo (born March 9, 1946 in Hove , East Sussex , England - † January 12, 2014 ) was a British actress .

Life

Bastedo began her film career in 1963 in William Castle Hollywood - Thriller password kittens . Although there were follow-up offers, she returned to England at her parents' insistence. There she first played television and small film roles, including in the comedy film Casino Royale . She gained fame among British television audiences through her portrayal of the agent Sharon Macready in the television series The Champions , of which 30 episodes were made between 1968 and 1969. In 1970 she had one of the leading roles in the series Codename , but this was discontinued after 13 episodes. Until the late 1970s she was regularly active in film and television, including guest appearances on series such as Department S , Jason King and Gene Bradley on a secret mission and in film roles such as Incest alongside Romy Schneider and Donald Houston and All Kidnap Victoria with John Candy . In 1980 she married the director Patrick Garland and was rarely seen in front of the camera as a result. Garland died in April 2013. Alexandra Bastedo died of complications from cancer.
