Donald Daniel Houston (born November 6, 1923 in Tonypandy , Wales , † October 13, 1991 in Coimbra , Portugal ) was a Welsh actor .

Life

Donald Daniel Houston is the older brother of the actor Glyn Houston (1925-2019). He and his sister were raised by his aunt in Tonypandy, Wales. During the Second World War he served in the Royal Air Force as a tail gunner and later as a radio officer. He then worked at a coal mine in Glamorganshire , Wales, before joining the theater. He made his screen debut in the 1949 published and Frank Launder directed film drama The Blue Lagoon on the side of Jean Simmons and Noel Purcell . In the literary adaptation of the novel by Henry De Vere Stacpoole , he played the leading role of Michael. Although Houston made other films like The Longest Day , Agents Die For Lonely and Clash of the Titans , it would remain the most famous role in his career.

Houston was married to actress Brenda Hogan from 1949 until his death .
