Career

Alexandre Fortin was born in Blainville and played in his youth for the Laurentides Conquérants and the Phenix des Collège Esther-Blondin , a private school. In 2013 he was selected by the Huskies de Rouyn-Noranda in 27th position in the entry draft of the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ), the highest-ranking junior league in his home province. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, the left winger appeared for the Huskies in the LHJMQ and established himself there as a regular scorer over the course of the following years. At the same time, he won the Coupe du Président with the team in the playoffs of the 2015/16 season , so that Rouyn-Noranda took part in the Memorial Cup 2016 and only failed there in the final at the London Knights . The attacker then signed an entry contract with the Chicago Blackhawks from the National Hockey League (NHL) in September 2016 , without having previously been considered in an NHL Entry Draft .

For now, however, Fortin returned to the Huskies for another year, where he achieved his best personal statistics to date with 52 scorer points from 52 games. For the 2017/18 season he finally switched to the organization of the Blackhawks, who initially used him in their farm team , the Rockford IceHogs , in the American Hockey League (AHL). Shortly after the start of the 2018/19 season, the winger was appointed to the Blackhawks for the first time and has since been used regularly in the NHL.
