The Alfbach is a 22.3 km long orographically right tributary of the Prüm in the Rhineland-Palatinate Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm ( Germany ).

The Alfbach rises in the Schneifel at an altitude of 631  m above sea level. NHN . The source is located on the northern slope of the Black Man ( 697.8  m above sea level ) about three kilometers northeast of Halenfeld in the area of ​​the local community of Buchet .

The stream initially flows in a south-westerly direction towards Halenfeld, where it takes its main inflow, the Donsbach, then swings south to Buchet, and then continues its course to the south-west through Bleialf . At Großlangenfeld , it changes direction again to the south and crosses under the A 60 at the Habscheider Mühle . Mostly flowing further to the southeast, the Alfbach flows west of Pronsfeld at 365  m above sea level. NHN in the Prüm coming from the north .

The Alfbach drains a 55.693 km² catchment area via Prüm, Sauer , Moselle and Rhine to the North Sea .
