Alfons Auer (born October 21, 1857 in Aholfing ; † October 18, 1910 in Ebenhausen ), Mayor of Regensburg (April 1 - October 18, 1910).

Auer came as the son of the teacher Josef Auer and his wife Babette, geb. Huber, to the world. From 1869 to 1874 he attended high school in Metten , then the old high school in Regensburg , where he passed the Abitur in 1878. In 1878/79 he served as a one-year volunteer , studied law at the University of Munich from 1879 to 1882 , completed his legal clerkship in Regensburg from 1882 to 1885 and ended state bankruptcy in 1885 with a grade 2. During his studies, he was a member of the Corps Ratisbonia from 1881 . After a time as an assessor in the government of the Upper Palatinate in Regensburg, Auer became the second legally qualified magistrate of the city of Regensburg in 1887, responsible in particular for the school department. On January 1, 1903, he was elected second mayor, and on January 1, 1909, he was elected second legally qualified mayor. After Hermann Geib's resignation , Auer, who had earned himself a high reputation, was elected 1st Mayor of the city of Regensburg on April 6, 1910 without an advertisement for the position; The liberal community representatives (27) voted for him, the minority of the center (5) abstained. Introduced into the office on May 5th, he was only able to complete a few projects of his predecessor Hermann Geib, such as the opening of the Upper Palatinate District Exhibition for Industry, Commerce and Agriculture in the city park on May 11, 1910 and the opening of the Luitpoldhafen in June 1910. He died in the same year 1910 and left behind his wife Anna, geb. Heelein (1868–1953) and four children.
