Georg Zitzler

Georg Zitzler , also Georg Zizler (born December 8, 1903 in Amberg , † May 24, 1986 in Regensburg ) was a German politician ( CSU ). From 1948 to 1952 he was Lord Mayor of the city of Regensburg.

Life

The son of a bookseller completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer and subsequently received further training in labor law and social policy. He was a union member and initially worked as a shop steward for the Christian Metalworkers' Association , for which he worked full-time as a secretary from 1928. Before 1933 he was a member of the Bavarian People's Party (BVP).

After the National Socialists came to power , Zitzler was briefly taken into " protective custody ". He lost his position as a union secretary and then worked as a cashier for the Catholic funeral association in Regensburg. After being fired again, he worked as a district director for an insurance company until 1945.

Zitzler participated in the founding of the CSU in 1945 and was appointed to the advisory board of the city of Regensburg in the same year. From 1946 to 1978 was an elected member of the city council and there for a time chairman of the CSU parliamentary group. From July 1, 1948 to April 30, 1952, he held the office of Lord Mayor of Regensburg. From 1954 to 1974 he was a member of the District Assembly of the Upper Palatinate .

Zitzler was a member of the Advisory State Committee for Bavaria from February to June 1946 and then ran for the State Constituent Assembly. In the first state parliament election in 1946 , he was elected as a member of the Bavarian state parliament through the constituency of Lower Bavaria / Upper Palatinate , to which he belonged until 1950. In the Landtag he was a member of the Committee for Social Policy Affairs, the Committee for Borderland Issues and the Committee for Denazification Issues from 1947 to 1950, from 1948 to 1950 he was a member of the Committee for Cultural Policy Issues and in 1950 a member of the Bavarian Palatinate Committee.

Georg Zitzler had been with Marianne Zitzler, born in 1933. Unsicker, married.
