Alfons Hardt (born March 2, 1950 in Menden ) is a German lawyer , theologian , vicar general of the Archbishop of Paderborn and cathedral dean of the metropolitan chapter .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1968, Alfons Hardt studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and graduated in 1973 with the first state examination in law. After entering legal clerkship at the Paderborn Regional Court , he passed the second state examination in 1976. He then studied Catholic theology and philosophy in Paderborn and Munich . On June 6, 1981, he received by Johannes Joachim Degenhardt the priesthood and then worked for two years as vicar in Bad Arolsen . In 1983 he received the appointment as Defensor Vinculi (marriage bond holders) at the Archbishop Offizialat Paderborn and was a research associate of the Theological Faculty of Paderborn .

From 1983 to 2002 Alfons Hardt was parish chaplain of the parish of St. Georg in Salzkotten . In 1988 he was appointed official councilor and in 1989 he became a diocesan judge in the archbishop's official office, and in 1991 he was vice-official. In 2000 Alfons Hardt became head of the Central Department for Pastoral Personnel in the Archbishop's General Vicariate and in the same year he was appointed to the Real Spiritual Council and in 2002 to the Papal Honorary Prelate .

In 2003 he became deputy general vicar and was appointed cathedral chapter . Since 2004 Alfons Hardt has been Vicar General of Archbishop of Paderborn Hans-Josef Becker and moderator of the diocesan curia.

On December 18, 2009 he was introduced by Provost Wilhelm Hentze as cathedral dean in the High Cathedral in Paderborn . In 2012 he was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Apostolic Protonotary .

Hardt is a member of the Bonifatiusrat of the Bonifatiuswerk of German Catholics and chairman of the award committee of the "Diaspora Commissariat of German Bishops - Diaspora Aid for Priests". He is also a member of the supervisory board of the Bank for Church and Caritas in Paderborn.

From January 1, 2007 to October 31, 2019, Vicar General Alfons Hardt was chairman of the legal commission of the Association of Dioceses of Germany (VDD). Since November 2019, Vicar General Hardt has been a member of the newly installed Association Council of the VDD.

In 2007 he was appointed Commander of the Knightly Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Cardinal Furno and invested on May 5, 2007 by Reinhard Marx , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy , the Trier Bishop and former Paderborn Auxiliary Bishop.

Hardt has been a member of the Association of Scientific Catholic Student Associations Unitas (UV) (UNITAS Rolandia Münster, UNITAS Hathumar Paderborn) since 1969 .
