Alphons Maria Scheglmann

Alphons Maria Scheglmann (born June 20, 1858 in Oberschneiding , † March 17, 1937 in Regensburg ) was vicar general and provost in Regensburg.

Life

Scheglmann began studying theology in Innsbruck in 1877 and was ordained a priest on Jul 3, 1881 in Regensburg. After that he was temporary priest in Fuchsmühl , was in Innsbruck Doctor of Theology in 1883 doctorate and cooperator in Windischeschenbach , 1884 Cooperator and preacher at St. Martin in Amberg . In 1889 he became cathedral vicar in Regensburg and was secretary to Bishop Ignatius of Senestrey from 1889 to 1902 . In 1892 he became cathedral preacher in Regensburg, 1906 cathedral capitular there, from 1911 to 1927 he was vicar general there and in 1936 he became cathedral provost. He was an episcopal clergyman , an official and a synod judge. He wrote a multi-volume, long time, the view of the secularization formative history of secularization in rechtsrheinischen Bavaria (1903-1908), represented for the Catholic Church, not only because of their material wealth of meaning, Scheglmann could also draw on sources that now have been lost, including letters from those affected. Scheglmann's work is criticized for the deliberate omission of sources.
