Alfred Keukenschrijver

Alfred Keukenschrijver (born November 9, 1947 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1967 at the Oskar-von-Miller-Gymnasium in Munich and studying at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Keukenschrijver passed both legal state exams in Munich. In 1974 he joined the justice service of the Free State of Bavaria as an employee at the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice . In 1977 he was appointed public prosecutor and in 1978 he was appointed judge at the Regional Court Munich II . Since his move to the Federal Patent Court in 1986, patent law has been the focus of his judicial work. During his secondment as a research assistant to the Federal Court of Justice from 1988 to 1991, he was assigned to the patent senate .

Keukenschrijver was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice in 1996 after a secondment to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Saxony-Anhalt for several months . Since then he has been a member of the Xth Civil Senate, which is particularly responsible for patent and utility model law . In 2009 and 2010 he was assigned to the Xa Civil Senate, which was temporarily set up as an auxiliary senate to relieve the X. Civil Senate, as deputy chairman and was most recently entrusted with the duties of the chairman. From 2011 until his retirement at the end of 2012, he was deputy chairman of the Xth Civil Senate, whose case law he played a key role in, in particular, patent law, but also employee invention and plant variety protection law.

Keukenschrijver has also made a name for himself in specialist circles as a commentator on the patent and plant variety protection laws and through a work on patent revocation proceedings.

Keukenschrijver is married and has two children.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Media Law at the Technical University of Dresden .
