Alfred Uckeley
Alfred Max Robert Uckeley (born August 25, 1874 in Kolberg , † December 26, 1955 in Marburg ) was a Protestant theologian and rector of the Albertus University of Königsberg .
Life
Uckeley was born the son of a Stettin merchant. After attending the Marienstiftsgymnasium in Stettin , he studied theology in Greifswald , Berlin and Halle . In the study were Victor Schultze and Martin von Nathusius his authoritative teacher. He became a member of the Greifswald, Berliner , Halle and Marburger Wingolfs .
From 1900 to 1905 he was pastor in Bad Wildungen . After receiving his doctorate in 1902 , he completed his habilitation in 1905 at the University of Greifswald . In 1910 he was appointed full professor for practical theology at the Albertina. From 1914 he was also a university preacher at the Königsberg Cathedral , the university church. From 1923 onwards he worked as a consistorial councilor of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . In 1923/24 Uckeley was rector of the Albertina. Until 1932 he was a member of the DVP . After the National Socialist " seizure of power ", Uckeley joined the German Christians , who advocated a synthesis of Christianity and National Socialism .
