Alfred Joseph Graf zu Königsegg-Aulendorf (born June 30, 1817 at Aulendorf Palace ; † October 27, 1898 in Vienna ) was an imperial and royal major general and chief steward of Empress Elisabeth .

Life

Count Alfred came from the Swabian noble family of Count to Königsegg that in the Kingdom of Württemberg to the Standesherren belonged, and was the son of Hungarian magnate Franz Xaver Karl Alois Graf zu Koenigsegg-Aulendorf (1787-1863) and from Hungary originating Maria Anna Josepha Countess Károlyi de Nagykároly (1793-1825).

As early as 1851 as Rittmeister of the "Kaiser Ferdinand" Cuirassier Regiment No. 4 Adjutant , in 1854 he became Emperor Franz Joseph's wing adjutant .

On April 15, 1857 in Vienna he married Countess Pauline von Bellegarde (born April 2, 1830 in Vienna; † May 27, 1912 in Munich ), the daughter of Count August von Bellegarde (1795–1873) and Baroness Julie von Gudenus ( 1795-1865). Wife Pauline was the granddaughter of the Austrian field marshal and statesman Heinrich Graf von Bellegarde (1757-1845). She had been her lady-in-waiting since Empress Elisabeth's first days in Vienna . Against the opposition of the court, the empress made her Obersthofmeisterin and her husband Obersthofmeisterin in 1862 . In 1883, after the death of his older brother, Count Gustav, in 1882, Count Alfred entered the Wuerttemberg Chamber of Notaries , to which he belonged until his death, but never appeared there in person. He was represented in the Württemberg Chamber by his son Franz Xaver (1858–1927).
