Alhausen is a city suburb northeast of the city of Bad Driburg in Höxter , Detmold , North Rhine-Westphalia . Alhausen is the birthplace of the politician, poet and doctor Friedrich Wilhelm Weber .

history

View from Rosenberg to Alhausen

The place is first mentioned around the year 900 on a map by Otto the Great as Allungeshus near Iberg ( Iburg ) and Brecal ( Brakel ). In 1225 the place is mentioned as the seat of Antonius de Allenhusen. Around 1300 there are records of the knight family von Aldingeshus (later Aldinghus , Allenhusen , then Alhausen ). Around 1580, when the Dutch hordes attacked Westphalia, a vigilante group was also established in Alhausen. Around 1590 the general mobilization takes place in the Hochstift Paderborn. In 1618 the Thirty Years War reached the place. The oldest house in the village was built in 1675. The first school was built in Alhausen in 1755.

Incorporation

On January 1, 1970 Alhausen was incorporated into the city of Bad Driburg.

Population development

On June 6, 1961, the then community had 588 inhabitants. At the beginning of July 2018, 734 residents were registered in the village of Alhausen.

St. Vitus Church

In addition to the Catholic parish of St. Vitus and the communities Pömbsen, Langeland-Erpentrup, Reelsen, Dringenberg, Neuenheerse and Bad Driburg which includes Pastoralverbund Bad Driburg. Construction of today's St. Vitus Church began in 1907.
