Ali Gatie
Ali Gatie (born May 31, 1997 in Yemen ) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and rapper .
Life
Ali Gatie was born in Yemen to Iraqi parents. He first grew up in Dubai until his parents moved to Mississauga , a suburb of Toronto .
Enthusiastic about music at a young age, he started posting his first songs online at the age of 20. Among other things, he worked with the beat producers Shumxi and Phantum . 2017 he participated in a competition RhymeStars the website Beat Stars in part, in Joe Budden his songs rated. He won the contest. He was then signed by Warner Music .
His first single, Can't Lie , was released in 2018 , an R&B ballad. This was followed by the single Moonlight , which made it to more than 102 million streams on Spotify .
With his single It's You , released in 2019 , he entered the international charts for the first time. The video for the single became a viral hit .
Music genre
Ali Gatie tries to create " the perfect mixture between Ed Sheeran and J. Cole " with his music .
