Alida Garpestad Peck

Alida Garpestad Peck (born October 11, 1991 in Stavanger , Norway ) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter . She made her international breakthrough in 2020 when she celebrated chart successes for the first time with the German DJ Robin Schulz with their collaboration In Your Eyes .

Life

Alida grew up in the Norwegian city of Stavanger . She began singing at the age of nine, recording herself with a tape recorder . She sang in public for the first time when she was eleven, during a talent show at her school. The positive reaction of her audience led her to attend secondary school with a focus on music. From this point on she began to write her own songs and play the piano .

Musical career

On April 27, 2014, Alida released her first Extended Play To Where We Reside . The EP consisted of seven recordings in the field of electro pop , which were released through Columbia Records . At first there was no great commercial success and Alida fell silent. It wasn't until 2016 that new material from her appeared. With Night Train , a guest contribution for CLMD , a single was released on July 18, 2016. In 2017 and 2018, two promo singles were released with Wasting Your Time ( JCY feat. Alida) and Everything I Do ( Maybon × Alida) . On September 7, 2018, Alida released the single Riot (Lo Lo Loco) together with the Dutch DJ Lvndscape . After the first engagement of a well-known artist, she worked the following year with the Dutch DJ Brooks . This collaboration resulted in the single Waiting for Love , which was released on July 26, 2019.

At the beginning of 2020, Alida worked with the German DJ Robin Schulz, which resulted in the guest contribution In Your Eyes . The piece was released as a single on January 10, 2020 and reached number five in Germany , number three in Austria and number five in the Swiss charts . It became her first chart hit as a writer and performer.
