Alida-Nadine Kurras (born June 14, 1977 in East Berlin , GDR ; formerly Lauenstein ) is a German television presenter .

Life

Alida Kurras grew up in Eichwalde . As a schoolgirl, she practiced judo as a competitive sport for eight years and was about to switch to a sports boarding school before a hip injury prevented this. While studying law at the Free University of Berlin , which she dropped out after a few semesters without a degree, she gained her first experience in the entertainment industry as an extra for television series.

In the second season of the German edition of the reality TV show Big Brother , she was the winner in 2000 and, since 2001, has been animating TV viewers at 9Live to take part in competitions for a fee. In March 2001 she was the cover girl of the German edition of the men's magazine Playboy and had a photo series in the magazine, but regretted the production and publication of these photos a few years later.

In September 2003 she hosted the longest television quiz in the world for 52 hours and 45 minutes at 9Live together with Robin Bade , Anna Heesch , Jörg Draeger and Thomas Schürmann . The world record was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records and is still in place today.

From 2004 to February 2006 she gave ProSieben's pseudo talk show Das Geständnis - Today I say everything! She took over for the show Live Your Life! In March 2006 . a case.

On July 15, 2006, she married her long-time friend Frank William Lauenstein, then head of programming at 9Live . They separated again in February 2009, and the divorce followed in September 2010.

A recording of a call-in competition moderated by her on 9Live corroborated the suspicion that the broadcaster had manipulated the competition, which had already arisen in the media reports in May 2007. In this scene, Kurras asked the editor, due to the high incoming call rates, to continue the competition without a determined winner and to have it taken over by the next moderator ("If you have such peaks, strike later!"). This recording accelerated the discussion about the controversial call-in competitions in the media.

From July 2, 2007, Kurras and her moderator colleague Jürgen Milski presented a new documentary soap entitled The Fate of My Life on RTL II . However, due to poor audience ratings, it was decided to discontinue the format. In September 2007 the format went on air again under the new name Das ist das Leben , again without success.

From December 8, 2008, she was the presenter alongside Miriam Pielhau in the ninth Big Brother season on RTL 2.

On March 5, 2009, the book Aber… wir Leben was published , a novel written in SMS form that Kurras had written together with her friend and 9Live colleague Anna Heesch .

On January 11, 2010, Kurras acted again as an external presenter for the tenth Big Brother season. After that, she only moderated the weekly special with clips from ten years of Big Brother , which, however, was canceled prematurely. Kurras was a guest in the decision-making show several times and co-hosted the finale.

She has been promoting products on Channel 21 since 2011 . In 2014 she was a guest on the show Promi Big Brother Late Night LIVE , which was hosted by Jochen Bendel and Melissa Khalaj .

In May 2018, Kurras became the mother of a daughter.
