Dănuț Alin Artimon (born August 31, 1971 in Timișoara ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach . He played 61 games in Divizia A , the highest soccer league in his country.
Career as a player
Artimon's career began in 1989 when he joined the first-team squad of record champions Steaua Bucharest . He made his debut on September 20, 1989 in the match against FC Inter Sibiu in the Divizia A . The first season was also the most successful of his entire career: In addition to the runner-up in 1990 , he moved with his team to the cup final , where he had to admit defeat Dinamo Bucharest . After another second place in the 1990/91 season , he left Steaua for league rivals Gloria Bistrița . Here he came, however - as in his next station at FC Politehnica Timișoara - only on a single mission. He went in the summer of 1993 in the Divizia C to UM Timişoara , left the club after a year to local rivals CFR Timisoara in the Divizia B . There he missed the return to the House of Lords in the 1994/95 season .
In the fall of 1996, Artimon left CFR and returned to Politehnica Timișoara. As with his first engagement, he had to relegate again from Divizia A at the end of the 1996/97 season . He moved within Divizia B to FC Oneşti , with whom he made the promotion in 1998 perfect. In the winter break of 1998/99 he left the club to be hired again at CFR Timişoara in Divizia C. After half a year he switched to FC Drobeta Turnu Severin in Divizia B, where he ended his career in 2000 at the age of 29.
Career as a coach
After the end of his active career, Artimon worked as a football coach. In the 2006/07 season he was in charge of FCU Politehnica Timișoara in Liga 1 , where he was replaced after half a year in March 2007 by Valentin Velcea . In September 2008 he became head coach of CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea in Liga II , where he was able to reach fourth place in the 2008/09 season , which is the best placement in the club's history. A few days before the start of the 2009/10 season , he resigned from his position, but made himself available again a week later. In March 2010, he resigned after the club president was sentenced to prison by CSM.
At the end of July 2010 Artimon took over the training of Juventus Colentina Bucharest in Liga II for a few weeks , but had to leave in early September 2010. In April 2012 he was again head coach of CSM Râmnicu Vâlcea. In August 2012, they parted ways again. A few weeks later he replaced Ion Barbu as head coach of Farul Constanța . The club dismissed him shortly before the end of the 2012/13 season in April in view of the threat of relegation. In July 2013 he took over FC Caransebeş in League III , where he was replaced in February 2014. At the end of October 2014 he returned to Caransebeş. He has been without a club since July 2015.
