geography

Headwaters

Upper Koenigsbach

The Allbach rises under the name Königsbach on the northwest slope of the Friedrichskopf ( 707.4  m above sea level ) at about 652  m above sea level. NHN in the forest area of bridges and moves the first half a kilometer northwest. Then he turns gradually to the left on the southwest run and changes over the district and community border to Neuhütten . There it passes through a first part of the Gunnesbruch nature reserve , in which the local community of Züsch is already on the right bank. The settlement area of Neuhütten extends halfway up the left slope. The Königsbach flows at 489.1  m above sea level at the sports grounds in Züsch . NHN merges with the right Dombach and is now called Allbach / Altbach .

Upper course Dombach

The Dombach rises in the Damflos forest between the Sandkopf ( 756.8  m above sea level ) and the Diebskopf ( 738.9  m above sea level ) at about 705  m above sea level. NHN . It flows roughly south and changes over to the Züscher district in the forest. Shortly before entering the corridor, he crosses the L 165, then outdoors the L 166 and then moves along the eastern edge of the Züscher settlement area. It converges with the Königsbach under the upper Königsberg estuary .

Allbach / Altbach

The Allbach maintains the southwestern direction of the Königsbach, it is followed until the end by the municipality border between Züsch on the right and Neuhütten on the right bank. Over it, the L 166 immediately connects the two local communities, then it passes the Züschermühle at the beginning of the first of two loops of the valley that are not very far reaching. It flows under the Hammerberg estuary ( 548.6  m above sea level ), only a little away from the state border with Saarland , at around 458  m above sea level. NHN into the smaller northeast inlet bay of the Primstalsperre , which meanders narrowly and almost a kilometer and a half long until it joins the longer north of the Prims . The reservoir then drains via the Prims.

The Allbach has - with the Königsbach - a length of 8.1 km and a water catchment area of 17.8 km².
