Allersdorf is a district of the town of Abensberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Kelheim .

location

The hamlet of Allersdorf is about one kilometer south of Abensberg. Today it is connected to Abensberg through a settlement area. The pilgrimage church is located a little to the east on Frauenberg an der Abens near the B 16 .

history

Berta Countess von Biburg , the founder of the Biburg Abbey , built the first church in Allersdorf around 1100. This church was looked after by the Benedictines of the Biburg Abbey . With the Biburg Abbey, the Allersdorf pilgrimage church also came to the Ingolstadt Jesuit College in 1589 . The old church was demolished around 1600 except for the tower and the present stately pilgrimage church was built in its place. In the 18th century the pilgrimage to Allersdorf was very popular, as miracle books from 1717 and 1764 prove.

Today the parish of Abensberg goes to Allersdorf every year in the month of May. The Kirchweiler Allersdorf has developed into a residential area in the south of the city of Abensberg.
