from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allsvenskan 1952/53 was the third Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ) and at the same time their last event in the knockout system .

mode

The participating teams were divided geographically into the four zones norra (north), östra (east), södra (south) and västra (west). The tournament was played in the knockout system, with the winners of the four zones being determined first. Since it was decided at the Congress of the Swedish Chess Federation in 1952 that the Allsvenskan from 1953 no longer in the knockout system, but in tournaments with four teams each, the four semi-finalists were also qualified for Division I in 1953 .
