Vegetative characteristics

Aloe lavranosii usually grows stemless, is simple or forms small groups. The 10 to 24 ascending, spreading, deltoid-pointed leaves form a dense rosette . The cloudy green, brownish tinged leaf blade is 30 to 60 centimeters long and 8 to 15 centimeters wide. The pointed, deltoid teeth on the cartilaginous leaf margin are 2 to 3 millimeters long and 6 to 30 millimeters apart.

Inflorescences and flowers

The inflorescence has up to 15 branches and reaches a length of up to 140 centimeters. The branches are branched again. The rather dense, cylindrical-conical grapes are up to 35 centimeters long. The deltoid bracts have a length of 8 to 10 millimeters and are 3 to 6 millimeters wide. The red or yellow, hairy flowers are on 8 millimeter long peduncles and are 30 to 33 millimeters long. At the level of the ovary , the flowers have a diameter of 7 to 8 millimeters. Your outer tepals are not fused together over a length of 10 to 13 millimeters. The stamens and the pen stand out 3 to 4 millimeters from the flower.

Systematics and distribution

Aloe lavranosii is widespread in Yemen on silt plains and low rock deposits at altitudes of 800 to 1400 meters.
