Alois Gillitzer

Alois Gillitzer (born July 7, 1944 in Niedermurach ; † February 17, 2019 there ) was an innkeeper , butcher , district folk musician , radio presenter , dialect author and German folk musician .

Life

Alois Gillitzer was born in Niedermurach. His parents owned a butcher shop here . After his apprenticeship as a butcher and the master's examination, Gillitzer took over his parents' butcher's shop. A few years before his death, he passed the butcher's shop to his son. He was buried on February 21, 2019 in Niedermurach.

Social Commitment

In 1971, Gillitzer was one of the founding fathers of the Niedermurach football club (FCN). He promoted the FCN as a board member, club host, consultant and supporter. From 1978 to 1990 Gillitzer was a member of the Niedermurach municipal council . During this time he was also a member of the school association committee Niedermurach - Pertolzhofen . Gillitzer was active in the volunteer fire brigade for 29 years , 17 of which as the first member of the board. In 1997 he was made an honorary member of the Niedermurach volunteer fire brigade.

Work for folk music, folk dance and dialect

From 1991 to 2018, Gillitzer was a district music curator and amateur play representative . He set up regular musicians' round tables . Folk music groups from the Schwandorf district were given the opportunity to perform in local, regional and national radio stations thanks to Gillitzer's support. In his home village of Niedermurach he founded the folk music group Niedermuracher Sänger . As soon as the possibility of the fall of the Iron Curtain arose, Gillitzer made contacts with the Bohemian music world.

Gillitzer campaigned for the preservation of customs , dialect and tradition of his home in Upper Palatinate. He worked on the Bavarian Language Atlas . At Bayerischer Rundfunk moderated Gillitzer folk music broadcasts. Gillitzer was a founding member and from 2004 to 2008 a member of the board of directors of Bavaria Bohemia eV

Gillitzer was married and had three children and seven grandchildren.
