Pertolzhofen is a district of the community of Niedermurach in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf .

The place is in the middle of the Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park on the Murach . The Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Path (cycle path) leads past Pertolzhofen.
history
Finds show that the area was already settled in prehistoric times. A local foundation around 1000 BC u. Z. is strongly suspected. The family members of those von Pertolzhofen (noble family) settled in the Murach valley around 1109 . Remains of the church date from 1150. The railway line built at the beginning of the 20th century brought economic changes. The trains running on the railway line were attacked several times by low-flying aircraft in 1944 . In the spring of 1945 a hospital was moved to Pertolzhofen, on April 23 the inmates surrendered and surrendered to the US Army.
