Rottendorf is a district of the community of Niedermurach in the Upper Palatinate district of Schwandorf in Bavaria .

Geographical location

Rottendorf is about 2 km south of the state road 2156 and 3 km northwest of Niedermurach between the 555 m high Gabesberg and the 529 m high Luderbühl. The Döferingbach rises north of Rottendorf, feeds a larger pond directly in the village and flows into the Murach northeast of Pertolzhofen .

history

Rottendorf was mentioned in writing for the first time in the draft protocols of 1587. In the statistical description of the Upper Palatinate by Joseph von Destouches from 1809, Rottendorf with seven houses was listed as belonging to Fuchsberg and Teunz . On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Rottendorf was part of the Niedermurach parish and had 21 houses and 160 inhabitants. On January 12, 1946, the community of Rottendorf was dissolved and incorporated into Niedermurach. The population of Rottendorf was against this incorporation. A few years later the incorporation was reversed and the original state restored. Rottendorf formed in 1969 together with Enzelsberg , Holmbrunn , Ödhöfling , Reichertsmühle , Schlotthof and Voggendorf the community Rottendorf with a total of 268 inhabitants and 1167.25 hectares. In the 1960s and 1970s, as in many other municipalities in the Upper Palatinate, the natural balance in Rottendorf was disturbed by land consolidation . The landscape as well as the flora and fauna were irreversibly damaged by the felling of the field trees , chemical weed control agents , and the destruction of the mosaic-like landscape of ponds, ponds, wasteland, field trees and fields . On December 31, 1990 Rottendorf had 108 inhabitants and belonged to the parish of Niedermurach.

Culture and sights
