Alphonse Liguori Chaupa

Alphonse Liguori Chaupa (born July 26, 1959 in Uvol ; † March 21, 2016 ) was Bishop of Kimbe .

Life

Alphonse Liguori Chaupa was ordained a priest on January 10, 1987 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Rabaul .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Turris Tamalleni and auxiliary bishop in Rabaul on June 24, 2000 . He was ordained bishop by the Archbishop of Rabaul, Karl Hesse MSC , on September 30 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Henk Kronenberg SM , Bishop of Bougainville , and Ambrose Kiapseni MSC, Bishop of Kavieng .

On July 4, 2003, he was appointed Bishop of Kimbe . On January 19, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his early resignation.
