history

In the referendum in Schleswig on the national affiliation to Germany or Denmark on February 10, 1920, 203 eligible Hoisters voted for Germany and 282 for Denmark. However, the limit had already been set as Hoist had been beaten to the first voting zone, where only the overall result counted. From then on, Hoist formed a parish in the new Danish office of Tondern.
