Alt Ujest (Polish Stary Ujazd ) is a village in the municipality of Ujest (Polish Ujazd ) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

geography

Alt Ujest is about 50 kilometers southwest of the voivodeship capital Opole . The municipality seat in Ujest is three kilometers south and the district seat Strzelce Opolskie about 15 kilometers north.

history

The village was probably built in the 13th century. In the referendum on March 20, 1921, 90 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 414 for Poland. Alt Ujest remained with the German Empire. In 1936 the place was renamed Alt Bischofstal . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Groß Strehlitz .

In 1945 the previously German place came under Polish administration and was renamed Stary Ujazd and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Strzelecki . In November 2008, the place was also given the official German place name Alt Ujest .
