Am Großer Renzeler Moor is the name of a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxon municipalities of Varrel , Kirchdorf and Bahrenborstel in the combined municipality of Kirchdorf in the Diepholz district .
The nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 063 was 183 hectares in size. It was completely part of the EU bird sanctuary “Diepholzer Moorniederung” and largely part of the FFH area “Renzeler Moor”. The former nature reserve bordered in the north, west and south on the nature reserve " Großes Renzeler Moor ", in the east also in small areas on the former nature reserve " Wiesengebiet am Großer Renzeler Moor " and was otherwise largely surrounded by the landscape protection area "Großes Renzeler Moor und Schwarzes Moor". The area was under nature protection since December 23, 1982. On December 21, 2018, it opened up in the “Großes Renzeler Moor” nature reserve. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the district of Diepholz.
The former nature reserve is part of the Renzeler Moor, which lies west of Bahrenborstel and northeast of Ströhen in the Diepholzer Moorniederung . It served to protect the existing moorland and heather areas. At the same time, the area shielded the “Großes Renzeler Moor” nature reserve from the surrounding agricultural land .
