American Doll Posse is the ninth studio album by Tori Amos . It was released by Epic Records and was recorded from June 2006 to February 2007 in Cornwall , United Kingdom .
The Doll Posse
Tori sings the songs on this album in five different roles that together make up the "American Doll Posse". In addition, they are all based on goddesses in Greek mythology . A blog was set up for each of the individual characters shown , in which there are new, different statements from the individual women every week. In the case of Pip, you should be able to read the whole biography within six months. In an interview, Tori mentioned that she wants to keep updating the blogs until December 2007.
Isabel
Isabel (HisTORIcal) is based on the Greek goddess Artemis . She is the voice of the songs Yo George , Mr. Bad Man , Devils & Gods , Almost Rosey and Dark Side of the Sun to hear.
pip
Pip (ExpiraTORIal) is based on the Greek goddess of wisdom as well as the war tactics and strategy Athena . She is the voice of the songs Teenage Hustling , Fat Slut , Body & Soul (together with Santa), Velvet Revolution and Smokey Joe .
Clyde
Clyde (CliTORIdes) is based on the Greek goddess of the underworld, Persephone . She is the voice of the songs Bouncing Off Clouds , Girl Disappearing , Roosterspur Bridge and Beauty of Speed .
Santa
Santa (SanaTORIum) is based on the Greek goddess Aphrodite . She is passionate and sensual and is the voice of the songs You Can Bring Your Dog , Secret Spell , Body & Soul (along with Pip), Programmable Soda , Dragon and My Posse Can Do .
Tori
Tori (TerraTORIes) is based on the Greek goddesses Demeter and Dionysus . She is the voice of the songs Big Wheel , Digital Ghost , Father's Son , Code Red and Posse Bonus .

The American Doll Posse Tour began on May 28, 2007 in Rome , Italy . Tori opens each of her concerts in the costume of one of the five characters. The tour began by disguising as Santa. She sang six songs until she changed her costume and continued to sing as Tori for another 14 songs. It was only on the day of the concert that Tori decided with which character to start her concert. Therefore, her band had to rehearse four different repertoires. Amos played the piano, Yamaha keyboard and a Hammond organ , and she was accompanied by Jon Evans ( bass ), Matt Chamberlain ( drums ) and Dan Phelps ( guitar ).
The first live performance was on April 10, 2007 for Radio Eins in Berlin . Tori Amos played six songs on the piano alone: Silent All These Years and Leather from her album Little Earthquakes , plus four songs from her new album Velvet Revolution , Father's Son , Beauty of Speed and Almost Rosey .
