Amesbach is a village in the municipality of Baumgartenberg in the Perg district , Upper Austria .

The village is located west of the market town of Klam in the Machland region , a historic heartland of Upper Austria and today a fertile plain along the Danube . On January 1, 2020 the village had 70 inhabitants. The village is traversed by the Gassoldingerbach and its tributaries.

The Außenstein Castle and the Waseneck Castle Stables are very close by .

history

The earliest written document is from 1154 and is "Amelungesbach". It is based on the old name Amelung . The place name was noticeably shortened linguistically (1335 "Amlungspach").
