Since Bob himself is armed, he can shoot Coleman and thereby prevent him from killing other people. He also saves the life of the already injured Venessa Parks.

The rescued by him Venessa that the consequence of their severe injuries tetraplegic was asking him to end her life. When Venessa's planned suicide, Bob is supposed to let her roll in front of a subway. At the last second, however, he changes his mind and it turns out that the paralysis seems to be reversible, contrary to the diagnosis of the doctors, from which Venessa draws new vitality and apparently falls in love with her now two-time savior.

But Bob is not able to enjoy Venessa's affection, professional success and the newfound respect of his colleagues for long. His conscience and his doubts about Venessa's love never let him rest. Nor has he completely discarded his idea of carrying out a rampage. The company's psychiatrist seems to recognize the danger posed by Bob. Bob feels overwhelmed and constricted and suddenly sees himself in the role of the gunman Ralf Coleman, whom he originally stopped, and shoots himself in front of Venessa.

A policeman discovers a note on Bob's refrigerator: “You will ask why I did what I did ... but what choice do you have left me? How else could I have gotten your attention? "
