Amphoe Bang Klam ( Thai : อำเภอ บาง กล่ำ ) is a county ( amphoe - administrative district) in Songkhla Province . The Songkhla Province is located in the southern region of Thailand on the coast to the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring districts and areas (clockwise from south): Hat Yai , Rattaphum and Khuan Niang district in Songkhla Province. in the northeast is the Songkhla Lake .

history

Bang Klam was first established as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) on January 7, 1986 by separating four tambon from Hat Yai district . On September 8, 1995, Bang Klam was promoted to Amphoe.

Amphoe Bang Klam is divided into four subdistricts ( tambon ) , which are further subdivided into 36 village communities ( muban ) .

Local administration

There are two small towns ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the county:

  • Tha Chang ( เทศบาล ตำบล ท่าช้าง ) consists of the entire Tambon Tha Chang.
  • Ban Han ( เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน หาร ) consists of the entire tambon Ban Han.

The two tambon Bang Klam and Mae Thom are each managed by a "tambon administrative organization" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
