Amphoe Singhanakhon ( Thai : อำเภอ สิงห นคร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the north of Songkhla Province . The Songkhla Province is located in the southern region of Thailand on the coast to the Gulf of Thailand .

geography

Neighboring districts and territories (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Songkhla , Hat Yai and Khuan Niang in the province of Songkhla, Amphoe Pak Phayun of Phatthalung Province and Amphoe Sathing Phra again in Songkhla. To the east lies the Gulf of Thailand .

In the south of the district is the Thale Luang , in the north of the Songkhla Lake .

history

On February 15, 1988 Singhanakhon was initially set up as a subdistrict ( King Amphoe ) by separating eleven tambon from the Mueang Songkhla district . Singhanakhon was promoted to Amphoe on July 19, 1991.

Local administration

There are two towns ( Thesaban Mueang ) in the county:

• Singhanakhon ( เทศบาล เมือง สิงห นคร ), consisting of parts of the Tambon Ching Kho and Thamnop and the entire Tambon Hua Khao and Sathing Mo.
• Muang Ngam ( เทศบาล เมือง ม่วง งาม ), consisting of the entire tambon Muang Ngam.

There is also a small town ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

• Chalae ( เทศบาล ตำบล ชะ แล้ ), consisting of the entire tambon chalae.

There are also seven “tambon administrative organizations” (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) for the tambon or the parts of tambon in the county that do not belong to any town.
