Amphoe Borabue (in Thai อำเภอ บรบือ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the center of Maha Sarakham Province . The province of Maha Sarakham is located in the center of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

geography

Amphoe Borabue borders the following districts (clockwise from the north): Amphoe Kosum Phisai , Mueang Maha Sarakham , Wapi Pathum , Na Chueak and Kut Rang . All Amphoe are in Maha Sarakham Province.

history

Amphoe Borabue was established in 1897 under the name Patchim Sarakham ( ป จิ ม สาร คาม ). In 1913 it was renamed Thakhon Yang ( ท่า ข ร ยาง ). In 1914, the governor awarded him by Maha Sarakham the new name Borabue (first as บ่อ ระบือ written later บรบือ shortened).
