Amphoe Chuen Chom ( Thai อำเภอ ชื่นชม ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) in the north of the Maha Sarakham Province . The province of Maha Sarakham is located in the center of the northeast region of Thailand , the so-called Isan .

Chuen Chom District borders the following districts are (from south clockwise) to Amphoe Chiang Yuen oin the province of Maha Sarakham, to the Amphoe Sam Sung and Kranuan of Khon Kaen province , and to the Amphoe Huai Mek and Yang Talat the province of Kalasin .

history

Chuen Chom The was first established on July 1, 1997 as a "branch circle" ( King Amphoe ) by being separated from the Chiang Yuen district.

On May 15, 2007 the Thai government decided to raise all 81 King Amphoe to simple amphoe status in order to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette "Issue 124 chapter 46" on August 24, 2007 this decision officially entered into force.

The district of Chuen Chom is divided into 4 tambon ("sub-districts" or "parishes"), which are further subdivided into 47 muban ("villages").

Local administration

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Kut Pla Duk (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล กุด ปลา ดุก ), consisting of the entire tambon Kut Pla Duk,
  • Nong Kung (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง กุ ง ), consisting of the entire Tambon Nong Kung.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO):

  • Chuen Chom (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ชื่นชม )
  • Lao Dok Mai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล เหล่า ดอกไม้ )
