Amphoe Huai Krachao ( Thai : อำเภอ ห้วย กระเจา ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the eastern part of Kanchanaburi Province . Kanchanaburi Province is located in the western part of the central region of Thailand on the border with Myanmar .

Neighboring districts are (from south clockwise): Amphoe Phanom Thuan , Bo Phloi and Lao Khwan of Kanchanaburi Province, and Amphoe U Thong of the province of Suphan Buri .

history

The tambon Huai Krachao, Wang Phai, Sa Long Ruea, and Don Salaep were separated from Phanom Thuan on April 30, 1994 to establish the " Branch Circle " ( King Amphoe ) Huai Krachao. It got full amphoe status on October 11, 1997.

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Huai Krachao (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย กระเจา ) consisting of the complete tambon Huai Krachao.
Sa Long Ruea (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สระ ลง เรือ ) consisting of the complete tambon Sa Long Ruea.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

Wang Phai (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล วังไผ่ ) consisting of the complete tambon Wang Phai.
Don Sae Lop (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ดอน แส ลบ ) consisting of the complete tambon Don Sae Lop.
