Reinheim Office

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Reinheim office was an office of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

function

Offices were a level between the municipalities and the sovereignty . The functions of administration and jurisdiction were not separated here. The office was headed by a bailiff who was appointed by the rulers.

history

The Reinheim office was spun off from the Lichtenberg office in 1820 or shortly before . Since the 16th century , Johann Kleinschmidt , the Chancellor of the Landgraviate of Hessen-Darmstadt , has been applying the Landrecht Collection of the Upper County of Katzenelnbogen as a particular right . As far as a matter was not regulated there, the common law came into effect. It stayed that way in the Reinheim office that was spun off . This legal situation remained until the end of the 19th century, when the civil code came into force on January 1, 1900 throughout the German Empire . The Reinheim office belonged to the Starkenburg province .

Between 1821 and 1823 there was an administrative reform in the Grand Duchy, with the separation of jurisdiction and administration at the lower level. District districts were created for the administrative tasks previously performed in the offices, and district courts for the first instance jurisdiction.

The Reinheim office was dissolved again in 1821. With regard to the administrative tasks previously performed by the Reinheim Office , the municipalities were assigned to the newly formed Reinheim District District, and to the Lichtenberg District Court with regard to jurisdiction .

Duration

The area of the Reinheim office lay on the boundaries of today's cities and communities Fischbachtal , Ober-Ramstadt , Reinheim and Roßdorf .
