Office Schönecken (district of Prüm)
The office Schönecken was an administrative unit in the district of Prüm in the then Rhine province (until 1945) and in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate (from 1946). The original office of Schönecken emerged in 1927 from the mayor's office of the same name and initially comprised the four communities of Nimsreuland , Schönecken , Seiwerath and Wetteldorf . In 1936, the three neighboring offices of Burbach , Dingdorf and Schönecken, which had already been administered in personal union from Schönecken, were merged in 1936 . In 1943 the two communities Niederhersdorf and Oberhersdorf were added , which previously belonged to the Prüm-Land office and have been part of the local community of Hersdorf since 1971 .
According to its name, the office Schönecken existed until 1968, when all offices were renamed association communities in the framework of the Rhineland-Palatinate municipal reform in the administrative districts of Koblenz and Trier . As an administrative district, the office or the community of Schönecken went together with four other offices and communities in 1970 mainly in the community of Prüm .
