geography

Lasel is located on the Nims River in the Eifel at an altitude of approx. 350  m above sea level. NHN .

Lasel also includes the Birkenhof, Hontheim and Steinbachhof residential areas .

Lasel borders (clockwise) on the local communities Nimsreuland , Wawern , Nimshuscheid , Feuerscheid , Lascheid and Heisdorf .

history

Lasel belonged to the Electorate of Trier until the end of the 18th century . Partly the place belonged to the administrative district of the mayor's office Seffern in the office Prüm and partly to the center of Langenfeld in the office Schönecken . In 1684 the village comprised four fireplaces under the name Lassel .

Lasel only grew together after the French invaded. From 1798 the administration was taken over by the Mairie Burbach , Arrondissement Prüm. Lasel has belonged to the Prüm district since 1816 and to the Bitburg-Prüm district since 1971 .

After 1802, the parishes were reorganized under Napoleon . Lasel becomes the new parish with the branches Wawern , Huscheid and Feuerscheid . In 1885 a new neo-Gothic hall church ( St. Helena ) was built and completed in 1896.

The interior of the popularly known "Nimstaldom" was restored in 1999. All wall paintings were extensively and faithfully renewed.
