Feuerscheid is located on the Lascheider plateau in the West Eifel . Feuerscheid also includes the hamlets and residential areas Denterhof, Gesotz, Hardt Chapel, Obere Hardt, Queckborn, Richtenweg, Schwarzbach, Streifenberg and Untere Hardt.

history

The name ending -scheid indicates a place originating in the late clearing phase in 12/13. Century. Feuerscheid was first mentioned in a document in 1363 as Vijrscheid . The place belonged to the court ban of Seffern in the Kurtrierischen Amt Prüm until the end of the 18th century . After 1794, under French rule, the place was assigned to the Mairie Burbach in the Saardepartement . After 1815, under Prussian administration, Feuerscheid belonged to the Prüm district and to the mayor's office of Burbach . The place Feuerscheid was completely destroyed by fire three times.

Economy and Infrastructure

There is a sports field in Feuerscheid. Children attend the kindergarten in Lasel, pupils attend the Graf-Hartard-Schule in Schönecken or secondary schools in Prüm.

Nine mobile suppliers deliver everyday goods such as baked goods, meat and medicines to the citizens. This also suits the very active seniors who meet once a month for a whole day or get together and take on practical work in the community.

Since 1997 the local community has published its own 12 to 16-page village newspaper every six months.

The gastronomic needs are adequately covered by a restaurant in the town center. The opening times are currently limited to Friday-Sunday.

The local community has five local businesses in the craft and service sector with eight jobs. There is an intermunicipal industrial park as a joint project with the municipality of Plütscheid. This has meanwhile been acquired by a company and is therefore becoming increasingly attractive as an expandable job potential for the residents and at the same time offering prospective living and living space.

The establishment of an “inter-communal industrial area Plütscheid / Feuerscheid” was planned, which lies on both sides of the associations of Arzfeld and Prüm ( ). In 2015, a ten megawatt solar park was built in the Plütscheid-Feuerscheid industrial park in Rhineland-Palatinate. The solar park is the first joint project between WIRSOL and the non-profit Bürgerservice GmbH Trier.
