history

The name ending -bach suggests that the place was founded in the 9th and 10th centuries. The place is mentioned for the first time in 1422 as "Peeten-" or "Poetenbach". The Prüm Abbey was wealthy there. In 1523 he appears as Putenbach . Until the end of the 18th century the place belonged to the Pronsfeld condominium . At that time the place had 11 houses.
