The place is north of Waxweiler in the west of the Eifel , only a few kilometers east of the state borders with Luxembourg and Belgium .

Neighboring communities are Merlscheid in the north, Dackscheid in the east and Waxweiler in the south.

history

According to the ending of the place name "-feld", the place is probably in the medieval clearing phase in the 11th-12th centuries. Century originated. Pintesfeld was first mentioned in a document in 1364 as "Pientsfelt". In the feudal period it initially belonged to the Weidingen court , but then went to the Manderscheid dairy in the rulership of Neuerburg in the Duchy of Luxembourg . Under French administration, it was located in the canton of Arzfeld in the forest department .
