Euscheid is a municipality in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Arzfeld .
geography
Euscheid is located about five kilometers northeast of Arzfeld on a sloping terrain from southwest to northeast to the Kelsbach , a tributary of the Prüm . The village covers altitudes between 465 m above sea level. NHN and 490 m above sea level NHN , to the southwest rises the Enkelsberg ( 503 m above sea level ). In terms of nature , three quarters of the agricultural area of the municipality can be assigned to the undulating and almost forest-free Arzfeld plateau in the West Eifel. The village is crossed by the district road 118 between Lünebach and Üttfeld . The Hofswald residential area belongs to Euscheid .

history
A Celtic burial mound and Roman finds indicate that the area was settled early on.
The emergence of the place can be attributed to the 12th / 13th century by the name ending “-scheid”. Century can be assumed. A first documentary mention is from 1489. Euscheid belonged to the Pronsfeld condominium until the end of the 18th century . During the French occupation at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th century, the place belonged to the forest department . After the end of the occupation, Euscheid was assigned to the Prüm district and the mayor's office of Lünebach under Prussian rule in 1815 and 1822, and later to the local mayor's office of Waxweiler .
With the opening of the Pronsfeld – Neuerburg railway line , Euscheid received a stop in 1907 .
In the course of the district reform in Rhineland-Palatinate in 1970, the place came to the Verbandsgemeinde Arzfeld.

Euscheid is not far from the federal highway 410 Mayen - Belgian border. The next motorway junction is Prüm on Autobahn 60 , about ten kilometers northeast of Euscheid.

In Euscheid there is a sports club called FZM lawn planer Euscheid . It is a pure leisure team that plays its games at several sports festivals in the area. The team trains on the sports field in Euscheid, where they organize a sports festival once a year on the second weekend in August.
