coat of arms

Coat of arms of Lünebach
Blazon : "Shield divided nine times by silver and blue with a red bar cross, covered with a silver crown with golden stones"
Founding of the coat of arms: Lünebach was formerly part of the Pronsfeld court, which with its 22 villages was a condominium under the joint sovereignty of the Electorate of Trier and the Duchy of Luxembourg . Therefore, the Luxembourg colors (silver and blue) and the red cross of Kurtrier are in the coat of arms . The crown is an attribute of the parish patron saint St. Gertrud .

On December 13, 1965, the coat of arms was approved by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of the Interior .

Culture and sights

Lünebach lies on the Prümtal cycle path from Prüm to Waxweiler . The Eifel Zoo is located near the local border . The cycle path towards Arzfeld was newly connected. From Arzfeld, the Enztal cycle path offers a connection in the direction of Neuerburg. The church of St. Gertrud has a medieval west tower.

Economy and Infrastructure

The local community was dominated by agriculture. Today there is still a full-time farmer in Lünebach. With the structural change, all other businesses have meanwhile been given up.

The largest employer today is the Prümtaler Mühlenbäckerei with over 100 employees in production and sales.

In recent years, additional holiday apartments have been set up due to the expansion of the cycle path.
