Office Wilhelmstein
The Wilhelmstein office was one of the 25 offices into which the Duchy of Jülich was divided. It was one of the oldest offices in the duchy. The younger Office Eschweiler was in the 17th century in personal union managed by the Office Wilhelmstein where also responsible for both offices bailiff in the castle Wilhelmstein resided.

Bailiffs
In the 16th century Johann von Palandt , his eldest son Werner and his brother Marsilius were successively the bailiffs of Wilhelmstein. 1614 Wilhelm Spies was Mozenborn bailiff of Wilhelmstein and Echweiler. He was also the Ducal Jülischer councilor.
