Mauthausen district

The Mauthausen district was an administrative unit in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria .

The administrative district was subordinate to the district authority for the Mühlkreis, which was located in Linz , and took care of their official business on site. In addition to Mauthausen, responsibility extended to the former municipalities of Altaist , Bodendorf , St. Georgen an der Gusen , Haid , Langenstein , Luftenberg , Marbach , Obenberg , Pürach , Ried , Schwertberg and Windegg . At that time it comprised three markets and 54 villages.
