The district of Windischgarsten was an administrative unit in the Traunkreis in Upper Austria .

The district was subordinate to the district authority in Steyr and took care of their official business on site. In addition to Windischgarsten , the area of ​​responsibility extended to the former communities of Edelbach , Hinterstoder , Pankraz , Pichl , Rading , Rosenau , Rossleithen , Spital and Vorderstoder and at that time included 1 market and 25 villages.
