Roßleithen is a municipality in Upper Austria in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district in the Traunviertel with 1912 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
geography
Roßleithen is 588 m above sea level in the Traunviertel. The extension is 14.7 km from north to south and 11.1 km from west to east. The total area is 67.5 km². 61.% of the area is forested, 20.4% of the area is used for agriculture.
Community structure
The municipality includes the following six localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Mayrwinkl (165)
- Pichl (493)
- Pissling (170)
- Rading (302)
- Rossleithen (247)
- Schweizersberg (535)
The community consists of the cadastral communities Pichl, Rading and Roßleithen. Through the amalgamation of these 3 cadastral communities in 1849, today's community was created.

Blazon : between the green sloping head and the green angular foot, each with a golden scythe leaf placed across to the right, in silver a red, upright horse. The community colors are green-yellow-red.
history
Originally located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria , the place belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century. Since 1490 it has been assigned to the Principality of Austria ob der Enns . During the Napoleonic Wars , the place was occupied several times. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria took place.
Roßleithen belonged to the Windischgarsten judicial district until 2012 and has been part of the Kirchdorf an der Krems judicial district since January 1, 2013 .
Population development
In 1991 the community had 1,770 inhabitants according to the census, by 2001 the number increased to 1,831 and in 2018 to 1,889 inhabitants. The increase is based on a positive birth balance , the migration balance is negative.
