Vorderstoder is a municipality in Upper Austria in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district in the Traunviertel with 826 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
geography
Vorderstoder is 810 m above sea level in the Traunviertel. The extension is 6.8 km from north to south and 10 km from west to east. The total area is 37.09 km². 55.3% of the area is forested and 25.3% of the area is used for agriculture.

Mountains
At 2388 m above sea level A. the Warscheneck is the highest elevation in Vorderstoder. It is on the border with Styria in the south of the municipality.

history
Originally located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria , the place belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century; from 1490 it was assigned to the Principality of Austria ob der Enns .
It was occupied several times during the Napoleonic Wars .
Vorderstoder has belonged to the federal state of Upper Austria since 1918, between the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938 and the restoration of Upper Austria in 1945 to the Gau Oberdonau .
Vorderstoder belonged to the Windischgarsten judicial district until 2012 and has been part of the Kirchdorf an der Krems judicial district since January 1, 2013 .

Municipal council
The municipal council as the highest body of the municipality has 13 seats and is elected every six years in the course of the Upper Austrian municipal council and mayoral elections. The last municipal council and mayoral election took place on September 27, 2015, together with the 2015 state elections . With a turnout of 85.98%, the number of invalid votes was less than one percent. For the first time, four parties competed in the 2015 municipal council election. The following allocation of mandates resulted:

The mayor as head of the municipal administration is also elected every six years in a personal election. In the last mayoral election, all 4 parties that stood up for the municipal council presented a candidate. Incumbent Gerhard Lindbichler was re-elected with 57.04% in the first ballot:

- Karl Peter Degelsegger (FPÖ): 15.69%

Vorderstoder's political image in the Second Republic was shaped primarily by the People's Party . In addition to 3 ÖVP mayors, there was also an SPÖ mayor, Alfred Retschitzegger .

Population development
The statistically highest recorded population of Vorderstoder was recorded in 1869 with 988 inhabitants. In 1981 the low was reached with 692 inhabitants, but since then the number of inhabitants has risen constantly again.
