District of Freistadt

The district of Freistadt was an administrative unit in the Mühlviertel in Upper Austria .

The administrative district was subordinate to the district authority for the Mühlkreis, which was located in Linz , and took care of their official business on site. The jurisdiction covered aside from Freistadt to the former municipalities Amesreith , Green Paper , Gutenbrunn , Hiltschen , Hirschbach , beetles market , Kerschbaum , Lasberg , Leopoldschlag , Lichtenau , March , Matzelsdorf , Neumarkt , St. Oswald , Pärnu , Rainbach , Rauchenedt , Sandl , Schwandt , Steinböckhof , Summerau , Trosselstorf , Waldburg , Wartberg , Windhaag , Wippl and Zeiss . At that time it comprised a city, 5 markets and 159 villages.
