Smokingödt is a former municipality and today's cadastral municipality of the municipality of Grünbach in the Lower Mühlviertel in Upper Austria .
The cadastral community is located east of Freistadt and was constituted after the reforms of 1848/1849 to an independent municipality, which was assigned to the district of Freistadt until 1868 and then to the district of Freistadt . Together with Lichtenau , the union with Grünbach took place in 1874 to form today's municipality.
The localities Heinrichschlag (103 inhabitants), Mitterbach (56 inhabitants), Oberrauchenödt (237 inhabitants) and parts of Unterrauchenödt are located in the cadastral municipality of Rauchödt .
history
The earliest written testimony is from 1286 and reads "Rauchode". The name is formed from Middle High German ruch . It means rough wasteland . The field name was transferred to the settlement.
